I have a freematics one(v4) and trying to see if I can connect it to my wifi hotspot and do tcp communication. Can you please share the xBee module in the Freematics one and the DataSheet.
I have the built in xBee and dont have SIM800L xBee.

From experience I can say yes to your first question. On each restart a new file gets created and the data is in ascii.
