How to determine if Emulator supports J1850?

I have a Freematics Emulator that I purchased in 2014 or thereabouts. An ATZ command returns "OBD-II EMULATOR V1.0". I have never updated the firmware because of the fear of bricking it with the wrong firmware. How can I determine if this Emulator module supports J1850? It has the 6 pin co...

Emulator GUI no longer works Win7 on 2 computers

I know the Freematics Emulator works because I can communicate with it from a program that I wrote. But the Freematics Emulator GUI will not connect to the Emulator. It used to work fine years ago but need to use it again. I have tried 2 different Win7 computers, GUI versions 1.010, 1.011, 1.012, Se...

Re: Sending Normal Messages

One 2014 car that I looked at, had almost 100 Normal Mode messages repeating at various intervals just with the key on (engine not even running). Most if not all are module to module communications. Example; if your car has Memory, then that module will send commands to seat, radio, steering column,...

Re: Setting remaining bytes of a PID

They can mean anything. Mostly will be related to the PID but providing additional info. For Fuel Pressure PID, the remaining bytes could mean the state of other Fuel System components and functions. The auto manufacturers do not publish this because it is not required by law but the info but may be...

Setting remaining bytes of a PID

Many automotive manufacturers set the other bytes of a PID to certain values for special diagnostics. Ex; PID 0A Fuel Pressure is only 1 byte but you might see changing values in some of the other bytes 33444 7E8 8 04 41 0A 07 90 E5 00 32 It would be very useful if the remaining bytes could also be ...

Sending Normal Messages

Is there any way to get the OBD-II Emulator to send Normal Messages (non-requested intermodule communications messages)? If not, might be something to consider for the next update. Every vehicle has Normal Messages on the CAN bus. I need to be able to replicate some of those messages and the repetit...

Great Emulator, question about serial communications

First, this OBD-II Emulator was exactly what I was looking for. I got the GUI/Emulator to work with only minor issue, Emulator needs COM15 but nowhere does it say that, I found it in a forum and tried it, then it worked fine. I then wrote my own program to test functions and automate setting values,...
