This could happen if the location of OBD port is very hidden. Also make sure you use 160Mhz CPU clock as 240Mhz generates RF noise.

SIM7600 has internal GNSS which is less sensitive than M8030 but is still usable with cellular GNSS antenna.

Besides my email to you, another suggestion is try powering the device from OBD. Some laptop's USB ports are not able to supply enough current surge.
