OBD II UART timeout values

Post by markdh999 »

Hi

I have the Freematics emulator connected to an OBD II UART 2.1.
The emulator identifies as ELM327 v1.5.

Using the emulator, if I request ALL available PID's (using the bit's in PID 0, 32, 64, 96) as an indicator as to if they are available to read, then it takes over 4.3 seconds to read all PID's.
The reason I have tried this, is that in my SEAT Leon FR 2L Diesel (2008), to read all the PI's that it makes available (17 PID's altogether) it takes about 850mS.
Surely, the CAN interface is quicker than this?
This length of time to read PID's seems to be consistent across an AUDI TT 2.0L Diesel 2013, an Audi Q32.0L Diesel 2016, a Citroen Berlingo 2012 and a Vauxhall Corsa 2017 and an unknown model of Hyundai (2017) petrol.
I've tried sending AT0 and ST 01 commands to the unit, but they just return a ? (indicating I guess that they are unsupported).

Best regards Mark H
