Emulator support for other modes

Is there any chance of an update to the emulator to allow emulation of modes other than mode 1? It would be really useful to be able to respond to requests for other modes, including proprietary modes. Is the source for the emulator available somewhere? I'd be happy to give it a go to add some simple functionality for the other modes if so...
