It also provides power for the Nano and its attached components. The OBD-II adapter is capable of outputting filtered and regulated DC 5V up to 2A. It has 4 pins at the back.<\/p>\n<p>Pins to to wire:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>VCC &lt;-&gt; Arduino 3.3V<\/li>\n<li>GND &lt;-&gt; Arduino GND<\/li>\n<li>SDA &lt;-&gt; Arduino SDA (A4)<\/li>\n<li>SCL &lt;-&gt; Arduino SCL (A5)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><strong>Connecting Arduino with microSD breakout board (optional)<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Arduino Nano features ATMega328P micro-controller which has 1KB EEPROM for persistent data storage. For logging larger amount of data, you can attach a microSD breakout board to Arduino Nano or use <a href=\"http:\/\/freematics.com\/pages\/products\/arduino-telematics-kit-3\/\">another kit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The microSD breakout board is connected with Arduino via SPI interface, provided at ICSP connector on Arduino Nano. Before loading the sketch in Arduino IDE, you need to install the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/stanleyhuangyc\/ArduinoOBD\/tree\/master\/libraries\/OBD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OBD-II library<\/a><\/strong> for your Arduino IDE which you need to access OBD-II data via the OBD-II adapter. If you don&#8217;t know how to do this, please referto <a href=\"http:\/\/arduino.cc\/en\/Guide\/Libraries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment, we provide 2 Arduino sketches which work out-of-box with a connected kit. Simply compile and download the sketch to the Arduino Nano via USB and that&#8217;s all. Of course, you can spend some time later to read and tweak the code.<\/p>\n<h3>NanoLogger<\/h3>\n<p>The sketch of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/stanleyhuangyc\/ArduinoOBD\/tree\/master\/nanologger\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NanoLogger<\/a><\/strong> display a set of live data on the OLED screen. It also logs data if a microSD or SD card module if attached.<\/p>\n<h3>NanoTimer<\/h3>\n<p>The sketch of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/stanleyhuangyc\/ArduinoOBD\/tree\/master\/nanotimer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NanoTimer<\/a><\/strong> will turn your kit into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com.au\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=2&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=0CCcQFjAB&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.vboxmotorsport.co.uk%2Findex.php%2Fen%2Fproducts%2Fperformance-meters%2Fperformancebox&amp;ei=vW_8U_zCCIKRuASP1ICwBw&amp;usg=AFQjCNHdCPZavNbcNzVFHLTe7wHiZMGBPQ&amp;sig2=IrrsqP77CWG-OGvu2kGOZg&amp;bvm=bv.73612305,d.c2E\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Performance Box<\/a> like device. It displays live speed (from OBD-II) of the vehicle and the time used for reaching speed of 60km\/h, 100km\/h, 200km\/h and distance of 400m.
